BlogRush is a newly launched venture aimed at bloggers that comes with the intention of providing users with the "fastest and easiest way to instantly drive a flood of targeted readers to your blog".
The basic idea behind the initiative is quite simple and one that has been around for some time:
-
You sign-up for BlogRush and install a widget on your blog.
-
The widget shows posts related to your content(with a link to those posts) from other blogs that are also part of the BlogRush network.
-
Since you are also part of the BlogRush network, there will be other blogs out there with the widget that will be showing your posts on their blogs.
-
So you get exposure on their blogs and they get exposure on yours. Thus, everybody shares traffic with everybody and everybody is happy.
However, BlogRush does promise something exciting in the form of content-sharing through the widgets which means that the widget will not just list related blogs but related content from other blogs.
Also, John Reese, the man behind it all, claims the technology behind serving relevant posts to be pretty innovative and effective. This, though, remains to be verified by practical experience.
There are also other useful features such as the widget content filter that allows you to control what appears on the widget on your blog.
The number of times posts from your blog are shown on other blogs depends on how many times the widget loads on your blog. There is also an attractive referral system wherein your posts get served on other blogs more if you refer more people to BlogRush.
This viral nature and the relevant content-sharing twist gives BlogRush the potential to rake up a sizeable user base in the blogosphere and develop into something big.
