I wanted to know if there's any way to get rid of that "30 days till activation" by deleting a certain file where the activation prompt is located before Windows (XP Home) Expires? not after it expires...

Im having a problem, my windows xp pro expired and when I click on to activate. It takes me to the screen where it checks to see if it is already activated. I then get the message saying that it is already activated and to click ok. When I do click ok it takes me back to the welcome screen where I must enter my password. I do that and it does it all over again. I installed xp pro on my second drive separate partition and got it work. promblem is I need to access my files in my c: drive which it wont let me access my documents settings/username file. any help on how I can get access to all my files even the hidden ones on my c drive. thanx

Yeah, I figured this out, but using a different link. This one is easier.

Note:

If you run C:\windows\system32\explorer.exe, you will have your desktop and everything! ^^

Hey,

I love articles like this, reminds me of all stuff I would get up to at college or whatever.

When playing around, a few years ago I triggered the activation on purpose by setting my clock forward. It didn't occur to me that there was this technique, instead I booted from a WinPE cd and copied internet explorer over the top of msoobe.exe.
