I downloaded it but it kept giving me a an error about the network when installing. I then tried the manual install but got nowhere. I tried the -install parameter and a windows came up with further arcane instructions. Who wrote this ineffective app? Oh, and I had to install the WGA plugin AGAIN.

Are you talking about the Microsoft "User Profile Hive Cleanup Service" Patch ?

Yes, Admin. Turns out it wouldn't install because I already had it in the system. When I uninstalled it and tried again it worked. Turns out this is old and the file date is from 2005. It's odd that MS published this in March of this year but the program file is much older. I reinstalled it thinking that I was updating to a newer version but it's the same. I must have installed it when I ran Autopatcher.

Wtf? What are people waiting for? This program is for the extremely small niche of obsessive compulsive people who are forced to wait at their computer and wait till it stops shutting down. They can't use the power button because of their fear that the computer won't like them anymore.
still, cool, save my mother a lot of time

So… badcalculon's Mom is OCD.

Neat application, or you can always create a shortcut that runs a command to clear the system's memory. Makes shutdown times a breeze.

You can also use the command-line "shutdown" command (in Start — Run . . . ).

shutdown -f -s -t -01

-f force programs to close
-s confirming that you really want to shut down
-t 01 setting delay time to 01 seconds
